Simple outfit to deal with a humid NYE. We are having a fairly quiet one close to home and will head out to the local fireworks to welcome in the new year. Had to wear something metallic of course, New Year's Eve calls for sparkle really.


This post also marks a year of blogging! Although I tried to blog what I was wearing every day for a year I didn't make it due to illness, so maybe next year I'll be able to share every single day.

Thank you all for your support, lovely comments, constructive criticism, outfit suggestions and inspiration you've given me. I've found so many new blogs and made so many new bloggy friends!

Wore a pretty summer dress to beat the heat today. I don't wear this dress often (this is it's first appearance on the blog) but it's so perfect for hot days I keep it around. The only downside to it is that it's so light and airy it gets caught in the wind a lot. Trying to get a photo this morning when it was really blustery was hilarious. Luckily this one turned out okay! I'll put a couple of others up in the facebook out-takes album for you to giggle at :)

Not going to lie - I wore this to do very little today. DH and I decided to spend the day close to home relaxing, just enjoying the holidays and spending time together. The majority of my day was spent reading in the hammock in the back yard and I took outfit photos when we briefly ventured out. Just another comfortable summer holiday outfit :)

Colours are a bit off in the first photo because of the sun I think, sorry! Just a nice light outfit for a very hot day today. Spend a little bit of time walking in the city so wanted to be as comfortable and cool as possible. Picked my rouille work to add a bit of colour.

Picked up a couple of summer sandals at the Wittner outlet - got 2 pairs for less than the original price of 1 pair! Looking forward to wearing them on the blog. Also got this beautiful dress at French Connection as they have an extra 20% off sale items. It was a very productive shopping trip. One of the things DH got me for Christmas was a "IOU" for a new computer chair, so today we went out to Ikea to get one. My old one broke so I've been needing a new one for a while. Have to say, this one is much more comfortable to sit on than my old one - even before it broke!

Of course while we were in Ikea we managed to buy lots more as well as the chair. It happens every time we go there, we walk in and see something pretty and/or practical and have to get it as well! haha! Hope we aren't the only ones that do that.

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas with family and friends!

I enjoyed taking a couple of days away from the computer and spending time with my family. Sharing a couple of photos a day doesn't take long but it was nice to stay away from the computer for a while. Thought I'd try do one post to catchup for the missed blog posts. It's a long one, sorry.

Completely forgot to take a solo picture, so sharing this instagram photo of my outfit instead with my mum, sister and Cooper.

My sister bought us all these fun t-shirts to wear on Christmas eve. I thought it was a great idea, and made me feel very festive as we visited family and baked Christmas cookies. I suspect I'll be wearing the tee again next year! The bracelet had little bells inside so my sister and I jingled everywhere we went :)

Love the photo of Cooper taking a massive yawn, had to share that one with you all :) Almost looks like he is singing carols!

On Christmas day we went to church, opened presents, had an extremely delicious meal, visited both of our families and ended the day with a relaxing swim in the pool before we had guests around. It was a really busy but family-filled day, it was so nice. The food was lovely and the company even better.

Had a bit of a giggle with my sister when we realised we had both worn blue sunnies, maxi dresses and Balenciaga clutches. We have very similar taste :)


The shoes were last worn here and clutch here. It's the first time I've worn the dress and sunnies, both of which were birthday presents. A lot of my bracelet stack was made up of Christmas gifts.

We had a much more relaxed Boxing day after our busy Christmas day. Didn't do very much at all, watched some DVDs we got for Christmas, went on a long walk with Cooper and ate plenty of Christmas cookies!

The return of the yellow sunnies! After my yellow sunnies broke a few weeks ago I was quite upset as I'd worn them often. My wonderful sister remembered how much I loved my old pair and managed to track down these for me! I love them and you can expect to see them on the blog a lot more often! :) Even had a random guy come up to me and ask where I got them from today which made me giggle.

Just wanted to wear a nice light summer dress for the heat today. Unfortunately I didn't have the chance to take photos until this evening, after the rain clouds had rolled in and given us a bit of a soak! Thongs maybe not the best choice to wear as we walked about on the wet pavements, but it was so hot I didn't want to wear anything fussy.

It was really humid today - hopefully the storms this evening clear the air a little. Just wore this simple dress to keep cool. It wrinkles really easily as you can see in the photos, but it's so light to wear in summer, so I keep wearing it. And as a colleague commented today you don't often see blue and green together, it looks quite nice.

Rather unintentionally dark outfit when I look at the photos today! I wore the Alexa to add a bit of colour but as it's a greyish lilac maybe I should have went for a brighter bag instead. Very casual again today as it's so warm, just wanted to keep cool outside of the office. This skirt is really comfortable as it has an elastic waist. Was really nice to wear all day.

Not the best outfit shot but I had to share with you the amazing view the venue had! We got to watch the sunset and there was even fireworks over the river. Just beautiful.

I wasn't sure what to expect for DH's work Christmas part as the dress code was "smart casual" which can have incredibly varied interpretations. I was happy with the maxi dress though, it was a very formal venue and I was comfortable all night. Some of the other ladies I met and chatted too had the same thoughts that I did - a dress always fits in! :)
