Boots and a scarf because it was really chilly! Ended up wearing a blazer over the top of this too. Going to have to start thinking about wearing opaque tights again - the sheer nude tone ones didn't keep me warm enough today!

Comfort won out today - tried to make a nice casual grey tee more suitable for the office with a pencil skirt. Added a blazer in case there were any impromptu meetings. Busy day as we tried to get everything finished in anticipation of our day off tomorrow.

Tomorrow is Anzac day, where we honour and remember those who died serving Australia. We will be up early as a family to go to the dawn service. "At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them". It's good to have a break in the work week, and it's good to be able to pay our respects to those who gave up so much for us.

When I put this outfit on this morning I thought it needed a belt, so I added one for a few minutes before I changed my mind and took it off again. What do you think, would this have been better with a belt? Definitely should have packed an umbrella - was very rainy today!

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas with family and friends!

I enjoyed taking a couple of days away from the computer and spending time with my family. Sharing a couple of photos a day doesn't take long but it was nice to stay away from the computer for a while. Thought I'd try do one post to catchup for the missed blog posts. It's a long one, sorry.

Completely forgot to take a solo picture, so sharing this instagram photo of my outfit instead with my mum, sister and Cooper.

My sister bought us all these fun t-shirts to wear on Christmas eve. I thought it was a great idea, and made me feel very festive as we visited family and baked Christmas cookies. I suspect I'll be wearing the tee again next year! The bracelet had little bells inside so my sister and I jingled everywhere we went :)

Love the photo of Cooper taking a massive yawn, had to share that one with you all :) Almost looks like he is singing carols!

On Christmas day we went to church, opened presents, had an extremely delicious meal, visited both of our families and ended the day with a relaxing swim in the pool before we had guests around. It was a really busy but family-filled day, it was so nice. The food was lovely and the company even better.

Had a bit of a giggle with my sister when we realised we had both worn blue sunnies, maxi dresses and Balenciaga clutches. We have very similar taste :)


The shoes were last worn here and clutch here. It's the first time I've worn the dress and sunnies, both of which were birthday presents. A lot of my bracelet stack was made up of Christmas gifts.

We had a much more relaxed Boxing day after our busy Christmas day. Didn't do very much at all, watched some DVDs we got for Christmas, went on a long walk with Cooper and ate plenty of Christmas cookies!

The weather was a little cooler today, so I decided to wear jeans. Gave me a chance to wear this pair I picked up in the Jeanswest 40% off sale. Had lunch with my friend in the city this afternoon.

We stopped to take pictures at Brisbane's solar powered Christmas tree, which was not the best spot as it was directly in the sun. Will try to remember to pick a shady spot next time. My friend spent the time taking pictures giggling as unknown to me she was on a mission to make it look like a spikey star was coming out of my head.... ;) As she made me promise when she told me though, I blogged it!

A few people stopped me to say they loved my "a shelter dog changed my life..." tee, which made me smile. Shelter dogs are amazing, and I take every chance I can to remind people to adopt. Even over Christmas there are thousands of dogs like Cooper stuck in shelters just waiting for a home. Looking for a particular breed? Met up with my friends today for a drink and a relaxing afternoon walk around Brisbane's southbank. It was the perfect chance to try out my new sunglasses courtesy of Firmoo. We stopped by the boardwalk to take some photos in the shade of the mangroves, it was nice. Although kind of funny having a group of friends there as I took blog photos! Today's photos were taken by my friend Gemma, you can check out her blog here if you're curious to know what living in Australia is like.

Antonio from Firmoo wrote to me a few weeks ago to kindly offer me a free pair of glasses. Firmoo have a huge range of lenses, you pick the ones you want and then the lenses (sunglasses, clear lenses or prescription lenses). I was pleased with the quality and customer service I received when dealing with them. They even included a cute little screwdriver you can use to tighten or loosen the screws on the glasses, and some replacement screws too just in case! Have never seen that before, even with designer or prescription glasses, so that was a nice surprise.

Dressed for the cooler weather today with a jacket and boots. I worry sometimes that the neckline on this dress looks a little too low cut for work, so this dress isn't worn as much as my other ones. Decided to add a scarf for warmth and it had the bonus of covering up the neckline a bit too. I kept the scarf on all day, it's so pretty. Added a bit of colour with my orange Balenciaga and bracelet.

Spoke too soon yesterday, the weather's gotten colder again and the tights are back out! Really wished I'd worn a jacket today too, just seemed to get colder through the day. As you can see it was very windy too, hair and skirt getting the blast from the wind! Thought I would wear the burgundy peplum skirt to break up the black a little. Still feel the outfit is missing something looking at the photos though - maybe a belt?

Surprisingly, this is the first time I've worn this top on the blog. It used to be worn frequently, but now I find myself picking other tops instead. Will be so interesting after a year of blogging to see what items I've never worn. When I was packing away some of my winter items this weekend I noticed quite a few that never made it out of the storage box this year! No wonder my wardrobes are overflowing ;)

My order from last week's $10 Cotton On sale arrived at lunch time today.

It caused a bit of a fuss in the office with people wanting to see what I'd got and a few ladies even went to Cotton On at lunch time to make some sale purchases! They bought some great pieces, and the closest store to the office is really tiny so I think if you went to a store you'd find a lot of great items still on sale. Can't wait to wear my metallic lace skirt, maybe when the weather warms up a little.

Not a bad way to start October and "buy nothing new" month, with a bunch of new clothes to stop me feeling the urge to buy more :)
